We invite you to the speech of the guest of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, researcher and lecturer Dr. Ieva Gintere (Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Latvia) on the topic "Modern Cultural Capital in Artistic Education: the Immersive Aesthetics of the 21st Century".
The lecture deals with contemporary issues of aesthetics, its connections to the past, up to its current social and cultural implications. Examples of Digital Art from genres such as punk, vaporwave, noise, glitch, and others will be presented, and the importance of creativity in contemporary education to ensure innovation and deepened thought will be highlighted. Dr. Gintere will also draw upon her current research project ImGame, a gamified virtual exhibition space that hosts works of artists from Greece, Latvia and Hungary, and in which Dr. Gintere collaborates with Dr. Emmanuel Rovithis (Dept. of Audio and Visual Arts).
The speech will take place on Thursday the 26th of October 15:00-18:00 at Room 2.45 of the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museology, and will be followed by open discussion. For online attendance:
