The algorithmic sound work by PhD candidate Thanasis Epitideios, titled “iNature” (2024), has been selected by a jury to be presented as part of an international sound installation taking place on April 11–12, 2026, in the Public Garden of Évora (Coreto do Jardim Público). The event constitutes a central pillar of the European program “Lá nas Árvores: Ciclo II – Levantar Voo”, which is included in the official events of Évora_27 – European Capital of Culture. iNature is directly connected to Mr. Epitideios’ doctoral research at the Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University, under the supervision of Professor Apostolos Loufopoulos.

Renata Dalianoudi, Associate Professor of Music and Audiovisual Culture at the Dept. of Audio and Visual Arts, Ionian University, and Scientific Associate of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT), was chosen as radio broadcaster also at ERT – Foni tis Elladas/ The Voice of Greece, the international Radio Service addressed to the Greek diaspora worldwide, with archival radio shows concerning the Greek culture. Maria Aslanidi, special teaching personnel at the Dept. of Audio and Visual Arts, is a member of the new international research working group of the RDA Steering Committee-RSC entitled "[Advisory] Music Working Group." The mission of this research team is to promote and develop the RDA standard for music further, while ensuring that it incorporates international developments in music information and metadata. The World Cultural Foundation of Hellenism of the Diaspora, in collaboration with the Traditional Cultural Association “I Filadelfeia,” is organizing an event on the centenary of Mikis Theodorakis' birth, with invited speaker Renata Dalianoudi, Musicologist and Associate Professor at the Dept. of Audio and Visual Arts at the Ionian University. Renata Dalianoudi, Associate Professor at the Dept. of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, is invited to offer a three-hour seminar at the Department of Theatre Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, within the framework of the undergraduate course “Shadow Theatre and Puppetry 2. Encounters” (Professor: Dr. Anthi Chotzakoglou). The seminar’s theme is: “MUSIC IN SHADOW THEATRE. THE ROLE of FOLK and POPULAR MUSIC. The work reSonaissance by PhD candidate Thanasis Epitidios was selected to represent Greece at the Audio Art Festival in Krakow, as part of the annual international concert of ICEM (the International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music), of which the Hellenic Association of Electroacoustic Music Composers (HSzHM / HELMCA) is a member.

The Sorbonne University/Department of Classical Studies & Institute for Research in Musicology (Institut de Recherche en Musicologie – IReMus), in collaboration with the University of Oxford / Faculty of Classics, are organising an international conference marking the centenary of Manos Hadjidakis' birth, entitled “Manos Hadjidakis: Music, Culture, Politics”, to be held on 21–22 November in Paris. Renata Dalianoudi, Associate Professor at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, will deliver a lecture entitled “Manos Hadjidakis in the Long 1970s: Renegotiating the Entechno”. Renata Dalianoudi, Associate Professor at the Dept. of Audio & Visual Arts, Ionian University, participates in the 17th Interdepartmental Musicological Conference, whose general theme is: “Operetta: Ruptures, Continuities, and Transnational Approaches.” Her paper is titled: "From the operetta 'The Elixir of Love' by K. Giannidis, performed at the Greek National Opera, to the Drag Oratorio 'Songs of the Greek people' by Giannis Skourletis: A queer reading of Kostas Giannidis.” The Conference takes place from 7-9.11.2025, at the Ionian Academy and the Concert Hall of the Old Philharmonic, Corfu.

On the occasion of the centenary of Manos Hadjidakis’ birth, the Athens Concert Hall, in collaboration with the Friends of Music Society and the Greek Film Archive, is organizing a round table discussion titled “Like an Old Movie…”, featuring Renata Dalianoudi, Associate Professor of "Music and Audiovisual Culture" at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Ionian University, and author of the book “Manos Hadjidakis and the Popular Music Tradition: From the Folk and the Rebetiko to the Art Popular Song” as a guest speaker. Emmanouel Rovithis,  and Agnes Papadopoulou, will present at the European Conference on e-Learning (ECEL 2025) the design and the qualitative evaluation of the educational game “The Other Half”, a collective dialogue-writing game aimed at raising awareness on Active Citizenship. The title of the presentation is: “Art and Education: Cultivating Active Citizenship through Game-Based Storytelling.” The talk will be delivered by Dr. Emmanouel Rovithis, lecturer and researcher at the Dept. of Audio and Visual Arts.

The 23rd Festival “Days of Electroacoustic Music” will take place on October 17–19 in Ioannina. The festival is organized by the Hellenic Association of Electroacoustic Music Composers (HELMCA) in collaboration this year with the Department of Architecture (University of Ioannina) and the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Ioannina (DIPETHE Ioannina). Representing the Ionian University, the PEARL Laboratory of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts collaborates with the ERHMMEE Laboratory of the Department of Music Studies in the implementation of this year’s festival program.

Invited by the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, and within the framework of the International Scientific Conference “Society. Technologies. Solutions.”, held under the umbrella of E³UDRES² SCIENCE in Valmiera, Latvia, Dr. Emmanouel Rovithis, lecturer and researcher at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, will deliver a talk titled: “Hyper Kafka: Rooms of Memory — An Immersive Hypertext Fiction Installation for Teaching and Disseminating Literature.” The course is taught by Agni Papadopoulou, Emmanouel Rovithis, and Vasilis Komianos, teaching staff of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts.
