On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 15:30 in Room YK2, Nathalie Dubois Calero will present the lecture "BacterVirHuman: Identities at the Microbial Intersection of Art and Biology" as a guest speaker of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts, within the framework of the course THE806 – Hybrid Arts Practices, coordinated by Prof. Dalila Honorato and Dr. Tania Tsiridou.

About the Lecture:
Nathalie Dubois Calero, scientist (Ph.D. in Biology, UPMC, France) and bioartist (BA, Concordia University, Montreal / MFA, University of Windsor, Canada), will share her work under the BacterVirHuman project. Through workshops, performances, ontological games, and audiovisual pieces, she explores the relationships between humans and microbes, focusing on how identity is shaped by invisible life forms.
Her artistic practice involves the use of fabric, tattoos with pH indicator culture media, and sound compositions to visualize and materialize conflicts, overlaps, and equilibria between human skin (and its excretions) and non-genetically human microbiota. These works form a performative inquiry into human identity as an entangled ecosystem. For more information, visit her official website: nathalieduboiscalero.com

Guest program coordination: Prof. Dalila Honorato and Dr. Tania Tsiridou.
